Overview

Turnstiles come in full-height or half-height models. They read a card or QR code, verify authorization, and send an unlock signal to grant access.

Step 1 - Identify Mechanical Issues

Check for the following symptoms:
  • Is the turnstile free-wheeling?
  • Does it fail to relock after use?
  • Does it fail to unlock when a valid badge is presented?
  • Is the card reader working?
  • Is data uploading correctly?

Resolving Mechanical Issues

  1. Verify that the turnstile has power
  2. Check whether the turnstile has been manually unlocked
If power is present and the turnstile has not been manually unlocked, contact your local turnstile service partner for repair.

Step 2 - Access Control System

If the turnstile mechanics are functioning correctly, investigate the access control system:
  1. Does the reader light and buzzer respond when a badge is presented?
  2. Is access data uploading to the system?
  3. Test with multiple badges to determine whether the issue is isolated to a specific worker or badge
