Prerequisites
The option to assign a temporary badge appears in the assign badge modal when at least one HID Proximity Card credential type is added to the card formats in the jobsite settings.
Assign a temporary badge
When assigning a Temporary Badge to a worker, you will select from the list of available badges. Only badges in a Registered status and tied to the selected jobsite will appear in the list. You must then provide an expiration date and specify the reason for assigning the badge.
Assigning a temporary badge overrides onboarding status, suspensions, bans, and access removal for inactivity. The worker will immediately have access to the jobsite. Once the badge is returned or expires, the worker’s access will return to whatever it was before the Temporary Badge was assigned.
See the managing temporary badges page for more details on other assignment-related scenarios.
Print more temporary badges
If you have no options in the Temporary Badge list, click the “Print more Temporary Badges” link to jump to the jobsite where you can quickly print more.
Return a temporary badge
Navigate to Temporary Badges
Go to the Temporary Badges tab for the jobsite.
Locate the badge
Find the badge that needs to be returned.
Return the badge
Click the three-dot menu and select Return.
Deactivate a temporary badge
When you deactivate a Temporary Badge assigned to a worker, it will show as Deactivated in the worker’s badge list. The Temporary Badge will return to the Registered state in the jobsite’s Temporary Badges list.
